Hogwarts Legacy release date pushed back to 2022

Hogwarts Legacy release date pushed back to 2022

Jessica Lane January 14, 2021

Witches and Wizards around the world received unfortunate news earlier today. The long-awaited Hogwarts Legacy game suffered an unexpected setback in its development. The official Twitter account announced that the upcoming Harry Potter game’s release date has officially been pushed back to 2022. Game delays usually harvest negative feedback from fans and players but Hogwarts Legacy seems to be the rare exception

Fans generally responded to the news positively despite the release setback. Most of the responses to the initial announcement focus on request for the developers to make the game as great as possible. The Harry Potter franchise enjoys a massive following around the world but there has never been a substantial video game built on the beloved world. Hogwarts Legacy built up hope for fans to finally play a well-made RPG set in the Harry Potter world.

Warner Bros. remained mum about the details of the game except for its short teaser video. Hogwarts Legacy sees players embroiled in a Wizarding World adventure set in the late 1800s. Game developers promised only the best possible game for their potential players. The announcement kicked off with a statement of gratitude from developers regarding the undying support for the upcoming game.

“Creating the best possible experience for all of the Wizarding World and gaming fans is paramount to us so we are giving the game the time it needs.”

The delay announcement failed to offer an official release date so there’s no telling when fans will finally be able to play the game. Undoubtedly, the setback will only build fan expectation for Hogwarts Legacy as it takes more time before release. Most games released under the Harry Potter license were half-baked adventure games that are movie tie-ins. Hopefully, Hogwarts Legacy will live up to the expectations of all the Witches and Wizards around the world.
