Netflix’s 2021 Preview Video Includes First Footage from ‘Fear Street’ and ‘Army of the Dead’

Jessica Lane January 13, 2021

Netflix is promising brand new original movies every single week for the entire year of 2021, and this morning they’ve released a preview video spotlighting some of those upcoming movies. Included in the video are Zack Snyder‘s zombie movie Army of the Dead and the adaptation(s) of R.L. Stine‘s Fear Street books, with first-look footage from both projects.

Army of the Dead is coming to Netflix sometime this summer, and the footage starts at 1:16 in the video below. As for the Fear Street movies, there are actually three of them in total, directed by Leigh Janiak (Honeymoon) and acquired by Netflix last year. Last we heard the entire trilogy is coming to Netflix this summer, and the footage is at 1:40 in the video.

In Army of the Dead…

“Following a zombie outbreak in Las Vegas, a group of mercenaries take the ultimate gamble, venturing into the quarantine zone to pull off the greatest heist ever attempted.”

And in the Fear Street trilogy…

Movie 1: In 1994, in the aftermath of a brutal tragedy in Shadyside, Ohio, a group of teens discover that a series of horrifying events that have plagued their town over many years might not be random, and that they may be the next victims.

Movie 2: In 1978, Camp Nightwing is divided by the campers and counselors who hail from the of prosperous town of Sunnyvale and the campers and maintenance staffers from the downtrodden town of Shadyside, but when horrors from their towns shared history come alive, they must band together to solve a terrifying mystery before it’s too late.

Movie 3: In 1666, a colonial town is gripped by a hysterical witch-hunt that has deadly consequences for centuries to come, and it’s up to teenagers in 1994 to try and finally put an end to their town’s curse, before it’s too late.

Check out the first-look footage below and expect much more real soon.
